Social-Emotional Skills
Social communication skills empower children to be self-confident in school and in other environments as they know how to behave and interact successfully with the people around them. This is important as it impacts children’s overall emotional and social well-being. Some children develop social communication skills naturally through their social interaction experiences with the peers and caregivers in their lives. Others may need support from parents and educators to help them develop self-awareness and specific social skills, including social awareness and perspective-taking skills. This webinar will introduce some concepts and activities which a Speech-Language Therapist may carry out in therapy sessions with students who find it more challenging to navigate the social communication landscape.
