Children vary widely in their social communication skills. Some children are generally cooperative, able to follow rules and behave fairly age-appropriately, as expected of them. They may seem to get along well with peers in school-based co-curricular activities, yet be unable to form friendships that go beyond the school setting. Other children say and do things that seem to upset others more often than not. They may get easily upset, and experience tantrums and meltdowns. Then there are children who lack self-confidence and may succumb easily to peer pressure. Yet others may appear stubborn and argumentative, insisting only on their own points of view. Whichever your child falls into categories (yup, usually more than one), don’t despair. Come join us for some starter tips on what you can do, and where you can get more ideas and additional support.
