Mr Lee Siew Pin Eric

Director, DAS International

Date of Appointment: 1 February 2013

 

Mr Eric Lee was appointed as director of DAS Ltd on 26 April 2021 and Chairman on 24 September 2022. He is also on the Board of DAS Academy and DAS International. Mr Lee is the Executive Coach of Career Transitions. He has more than 25 years of experience in the corporate world, mainly holding Human Resource leadership roles in major multinational corporations and established public companies. Exxon (previously Esso), Union Carbide, Cummins Engine Company, Cold Storage Group (now the Dairy Farm Group), the OCBC Bank Group, and Compaq Computer (before the integration with Hewlett-Packard) are among the companies Mr Lee has worked in.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the DAS, Eric Lee has been awarded the prestigious Singapore National Day 2023 Public Service Medal (PBM). The honour comes as a testament to his unwavering dedication and leadership as the Chairman of the DAS.

Mr Eric Lee has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Political Science from the University of Singapore, a Bachelor’s degree in Holistic Nutritional Studies from Clayton College in the US, and is a Certified Columbia Coach from Columbia University, New York.

Outside of coaching and besides his work for the DAS, Eric continues to be involved with the community and voluntary organisations. Mr Eric enjoys seeing and helping people fulfil their full potential in life.

Dr Cynthia Tan Guan Hiang

Director, DAS International

Dr Cynthia Tan Guan Hiang is a key Executive Committee Member of the Dyslexia Association of Singapore. She is the chairperson of the Exco's Fund Raising Committee and took the lead in organising the very successful Charity Gala Dinner at the Singapore Island Country Club in September 2012 which raised $1.3 million for the DAS.
 
Dr Cynthia is a member of the OCBC Group Management Team. She was appointed as Executive Vice President in April 2005. Being the Head of the Group for Human Resources, she is responsible for the management as well as training and development of OCBC's human capital. Dr Cynthia has over 29 years of experience and has held senior-level positions with DFS Ventures, Mentor Graphics, Apple Computer and National Semiconductor.
 
Dr Cynthia was also a former lecturer in Business Studies at Ngee Ann Polytechnic and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Hull, UK.

Mr Kevin Kwek

Director, DAS International

Mr Kevin Kwek joined the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) as an Executive Committee Member in January 2013. He is the founding director of Legal Solutions LLC, a local law firm. He graduated from the University of Keele, England, in 1993 with a Second Class (Upper) Honours Degree in Law and Economics. 

Kevin was called to the Singapore Bar in 1995. He was previously working with Drew & Napier, Shook Lin & Bok and Kenneth Tan Partnership (where he was made partner in 1999) prior to setting up Legal Solutions LLC in 2005 where he is currently a Director.

Ms Wong May-Lyn

Director, DAS International

Ms Wong May-Lyn joined the Dyslexia Association of Singapore as an Executive Committee Member in September 2018. She is a member of the programmes and services, human resources and fundraising sub-committees.

Ms May-Lyn is a language and literacy, curriculum specialist. In her work at the Ministry of Education, she has led project teams in developing both primary school English and kindergarten language and literacy curricula. Her experience includes designing instructional materials and developing content for teachers’ professional development. Her current work as a Principal Education Development Specialist at NTUC First Campus focuses on the language and literacy curriculum for the preschool years.

Ms May-Lyn holds a Master of Education (English Language) from the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, and a Master of Science in Early Childhood Education from the Wheelock College Centre for International Education, Leadership, and Innovation, Boston, USA.

Mr Lee Siang

Director, DAS International

Siang joined DAS on 15 December 2001 and assumed the post of CEO on 1 September 2014. He also sits on the Board of DAS subsidiaries, DAS Academy and DAS International.  Siang was a member of the US-based International Dyslexia Association from 2016 to 2018 and Chair of their Global Partners Committee from 2016 to 2018, he still remains a member of the Global Partners Committee representing Singapore.  He has played a key role in the rapid growth of DAS into a thriving social enterprise with a multi-disciplinary professional workforce that provides a continuum of services.  He emphasizes that DAS "must strive to fulfil our social mission by combining entrepreneurial and business skills with the philanthropic characteristics of non-profits".
 
Siang obtained his BA from the National University of Singapore via the sponsorship of the Singapore Armed Forces. He also has a Certificate in Dyslexia Studies, a PGC in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and a PGC in Specific Learning Differences from London Metropolitan University, a PGDip in Financial Management from the Singapore Institute of Management and an MBA from the University of Western Australia. It is this unique balance of experiences and qualifications that has allowed Siang to oversee the diverse services and functions of the DAS family.
